Who hasn’t heard of e-commerce? From young to old it’s one of the first things that comes to mind when thinking of buying and selling products and services online. And over the year its popularity has reached new heights.
So why is e-commerce so famous? Well, because of its flexibility and cost-efficiency. It enables sellers to expand their business on a global scale quite easily. And the fun part is it technically doesn’t cost a dime.
As for the buyer, they have the ability to buy from anywhere. The only thing that they need is an internet connection and a device with a browser. You don’t need to be physically present to buy. And also the payment systems that are used are quite secure and versatile. Almost all of them have included the major payment systems such as adding bank account or all well-known credit cards.
Other than this another benefit of e-commerce websites is that almost anyone can open them. If you have a product that you made as a hobby then you can easily turn those products into a medium to earn from home online with the help of e-commerce. The fun part is if you don’t have your very own products then you can just sell products on behalf of another seller. And get a percentage out of his profits.
Now you might be thinking that you don’t know how to code? Also, you don’t interact with others very well so how should you ask someone to code for you? Well, what if I told you you don’t need coding knowledge to create a website?
Yeah, you really don’t need any coding knowledge. All you need to know is how to drag and drop and follow instructions. Cause now the there are a lot CMS out there that give to this power. Let’s talk about some of these platforms which I find the most useful when it comes to e-commerce.
# Shopify
Shopify is one of the most well-known e-commerce CMS platforms out there. Though not free when it comes to all the necessary functions needed to run a successful e-commerce website it nearly has it all. From an easy-to-use drag and drop style interface to a vast collection of well-optimized themes and plugins. It also supports all the major paywall systems out there.
Well, I think all of you are quite familiar with wordpress. Whether it’s building a corporate site or video streaming website or blog site WordPress can be used to develop all these sites. Even its collection of themes and plugins are one of the largest out there. And one such plugin is WooCommerce. Yeah, it’s a plugin a very powerful. It transforms as well as gives you the ability to turn an existing website into a bonafide e-commerce platform.
This is another well-known e-commerce platform. It even has some features that are available out of the box which have to be added separately in Shopify. But it’s not as user-friendly as the other two. To control the backend there are two separate sections. Unlike the others where you have a single dashboard to help you in managing them. But still, it powers lots of big shops and is quite easy to use. Like the previous ones, it also supports almost all forms of an electronic transaction system. But like Shopify, it’s not free but it has one month trial period.
